We love to see all of the sites that you make with Jimdo, and we’re even more excited when we see Jimdo sites ranking well in search results. Our built-in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) tools offer you everything you need to attract search engines like Google and Bing.
Today, we’ve added improved XML sitemaps to all Jimdo sites, making it even easier to get your site to rank well in search results.
What is an XML sitemap?
A sitemap (sometimes site map) is a list of the accessible pages on your website. An XML sitemap is used to tell search engines what pages are on your site, how they are organized, which pages are most important, and how often each page is updated.
Submitting a sitemap to the major search engines is an important step in optimizing your site for search. Providing a list of your pages isn’t a guarantee that they will all be shown in search results, but it definitely increases the chances.
Submit and succeed
JimdoPro and JimdoBusiness customers can also include hidden pages in the XML sitemap. You can activate this feature by logging in to your site and clicking Settings > Website > XML Sitemap.
